77 W Washington St, Ste 1706, Chicago, IL
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing psychotherapy to adults and couples. I specialize in substance use, addiction, and the emotional and relational challenges that often accompany them, including anxiety, shame, depression, identity concerns, and relationship distress. My work is grounded in an integrative approach that draws from humanistic, existential, psychodynamic, cognitive, and behavioral therapies. I have experience working in inpatient settings, intensive outpatient programs, and group treatment environments, which informs a balanced approach that is both compassionate and clinically structured. I aim to create a therapeutic space that is thoughtful, nonjudgmental, and collaborative, where clients feel supported while also being gently challenged toward meaningful change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe my style as direct, grounded, and supportive. I believe therapy works best when there is both emotional safety and honest dialogue. Sessions are collaborative, and we move at a pace that feels manageable while still working intentionally toward change. I place a strong emphasis on understanding patterns—how past experiences, coping strategies, and relationships shape present challenges. When helpful, I also incorporate practical tools to support emotional regulation, communication, and decision-making. This approach tends to work well for people who want more than surface-level conversation and are open to self-reflection, insight, and growth. Whether you are navigating addiction-related concerns, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or a period of transition, therapy is a space to better understand yourself and develop more sustainable ways of living.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first few sessions focus on understanding what brings you to therapy and getting a clear picture of your history, current challenges, and goals. We’ll discuss what has and hasn’t worked in the past, identify patterns that may be contributing to distress, and clarify what you hope to change or better understand. Ongoing sessions are collaborative and tailored to your needs. Some sessions focus on processing emotions and experiences in depth, while others emphasize insight, skill-building, or practical strategies to support change. When relevant, we may explore how past experiences, relationships, or coping styles are influencing present concerns. Throughout the process, I prioritize creating a space that feels supportive, thoughtful, and honest. Therapy is not scripted, but it is intentional—adjusting over time as goals evolve and new insights emerge.
