Jamie says, “It is often only when staying the same seems more unbearable than stepping outside of what is familiar do we take the steps to change.” Dedicated to lifelong learning, Jamie achieved a Bachelor of Science from James Madison University in 2005. She majored in psychology with a minor in family studies. She completed her Master of Education in Community and Addictions Counseling at the College of William and Mary in 2009. Jamie then continued her education, earning a post-graduate certificate in Psychiatric Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of Maryland at College Park Working with individuals, couples, and families aged 4 years old through adulthood, she has a wide range of experience in different settings. These include college counseling centers, homeless shelters, public schools, community mental health agencies and medical clinics. At every opportunity, Jamie continues her professional development. She also has a particular interest in dealing with trauma.
