Getting to know Jamie Zornes

Hello, I'm Jamie. With over a decade of experience working with some of the most vulnerable members of society and within the criminal justice system, I am deeply passionate about building a therapeutic relationship based on trust and partnership. I believe that when we establish a relationship built on familiarity and trust, it creates a comfortable environment that fosters growth and change. My education and on-the-job experience have honed my interpersonal skills, making me understanding, courteous, and empathetic. These qualities enable me to relate well to people from varied backgrounds and situations, and to support individuals dealing with a multitude of struggles. My work in these programs has also enhanced my efficiency in case management, crisis intervention, clinical assessment, and motivational interviewing. In my early twenties, while attending Metropolitan State University of Denver, I was diagnosed with a form of Dyslexia. Despite this challenge and with minimal accommodations, I successfully completed my bachelor's degree and went on to obtain an advanced degree. This personal experience has deeply influenced my motivation and belief in both myself and the people I work with. I firmly believe that with hard work and the right supports, you can accomplish anything. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, I specialize in areas such as anger management, anxiety, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, depression, family relationships, life transitions, PTSD, intimate/romantic relationships, stress, suicidal ideation and self-harming behaviors, and trauma. My continued education, training, and life experiences all contribute to my effectiveness as a social worker.
