Getting to know Jamison Kidd
We are seldom in control of what happens to us in our lives. Yet, we can decide how we respond to these challenges by choosing actions that promote personal health and well-being. I approach therapy with empathy and compassion to create a space with you that encourages benign emotional exploration, the search for insight, and the development and solidification of mechanisms to heal and grow into your authentic self. We will work together to identify your current strengths and implement new skills that resonate with you.
It is important to recognize that you are the foundation of your life. Change engenders fear, but that fear has the potential to be an ally. Together, we will learn to identify and manage emotions, regulate and develop tolerance toward distress, and explore paths to becoming more in tune with your authentic self to strengthen your ability to grow with change.
I specialize in depressive disorders (depression and major depression), anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder), PTSD, and adjustment disorder. I have extensive knowledge and experience within the LGBTQ community, which allows me to provide care for its specific concerns. My practice is grounded in existential psychology, and my clients often express gratitude for my direct and honest approach.
I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, which informs my thoughtful and evidence-based approach to therapy.

Jamison was very attuned to our sessions & I felt that he really listened to what I was saying. He created a space where I felt comfortable of discussing my concerns & I was able to gain a new perspective that I would not otherwise have gotten if I did not come to him. I enjoyed that I was encouraged to feel what I was expressing so I could learn more about my situation and how I relate to it. It has been a great feeling & wonderful experience!

Jamison is a great listener and asks very good questions that make you really think about what your ultimate goals are. He is never judgmental but instead takes the information and helps you process it in your own mind. He is a good motivator and an all - around kind and empathetic person. I highly recommend him to new clients!
