Jana is a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in the state of VA. She incorporates multiple therapies and perspectives, including EMDR and Rapid Resolution Therapy in her care and has a trauma informed, humanistic approach to care. What should a new client know about working with you?

With over twenty years of experience, Jana's approach is humanistic and eclectic. She has a warm, non-clinical personality with a sense of humor and welcomes all walks of life. With trauma care there does not have to be any relieving of the trauma to receive relief! From Navy Admirals to students, she has a perspective that people have worth by being. She understands that many people are obtaining care to get rid of some type of pain, thus she likes to work fast as many times lasting relief is the goal. "Although I am a professional clinician, I strive to not necessarily act like it. I think it can hinder human connection. In order to understand what kind of relief a person is looking for, I view it as my job to create a space they feel comfortable. Therefore, I'm not going to be showing up to work in a blazer, or with a bunch of books and degrees in the background. Instead, I strive to show up as a respectful, interested, potentially helpful human who gives a damn."
