Jason Norwood, LMSW

Psychotherapist
MD
Hi, I’m Jason Norwood, LMSW. I work with adults who are ready for meaningful change—whether that means healing from trauma, managing anxiety or depression, or navigating a difficult life transition. I believe therapy works best when you feel truly comfortable, heard, respected, and supported while also feeling empowered to take ownership of your growth. My goal is to create a space where you can show up as you are, feel understood, and gain the clarity and confidence needed to move forward. I also believe in being real about life—because life comes with hurdles for all of us. No one moves through it without challenges, setbacks, or moments where things feel overwhelming. Being down to earth and meeting people where they are is important to me. Together, we focus on understanding what you’re facing, making sense of it, and finding practical ways to move through it with more confidence and resilience. My background includes experience in both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings, where I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals facing complex emotional challenges. This work has deepened my commitment to trauma-informed care. I help clients safely explore and process difficult experiences, understand how those experiences shape current patterns, and develop healthier ways to cope, connect, and move through life. My approach is direct, collaborative, and grounded. I integrate evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, along with trauma-informed care, strengths-based techniques, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies. Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening emotional regulation, developing practical tools, and creating steady, meaningful progress toward healing. If you’re ready to begin working through past experiences, break patterns that no longer serve you, and build a stronger, more empowered version of yoursel
