Jeanette Belew, MS

Psychotherapist
4801 Frankford Rd, Ste 300, Dallas, TX
Jeanette Belew has worked in mental health and the criminal justice system for over 20 years. She empowers clients to make changes to improve their overall functioning. Her background includes mood disorders, PTSD, anxiety, relationship issues, and substance abuse. Jeanette is qualified to conduct forensic and psychological evaluations. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology from Pittsburg State University. For over twenty years, she has used EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients reach therapeutic goals. This evidence-based modality is valuable for processing trauma, managing pain, losing weight, enhancing performance, gaining self-insight, and improving functioning. Jeanette recently began combining Brainspotting with her EMDR expertise. Brainspotting, discovered by an EMDR therapist in 2003, links eye positions to unconscious emotional experiences. She finds EMDR especially effective when combined with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and sand tray therapy. Jeanette started her career in Kansas at a community mental health center treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, marital, and parenting issues. She has conducted psychological evaluations for juvenile court and foster care. She facilitated group and individual sex offender treatment for adults and adolescents and was a state-certified mediator. For thirteen years, Jeanette has conducted forensic psychological evaluations for the Dallas County Court System. Her experience across these areas enables a multidisciplinary approach to helping patients take control of their mental and physical wellbeing.
