Psychotherapist
825 N Cedar Crest Blvd, Allentown, PA
I know that there are so many misguided beliefs about therapy that it can seem too overwhelming to give it a try. However, as your therapist, it’s my job to coach you through the discomfort and encourage you to make insights into lasting change. Therapy doesn’t have to be a complete upheaval process or drastic edit to your identity. I work with my clients by empowering them to hone in on their strengths and believe in their desired outcomes. With small, thoughtful reflections and inspired actions, we can improve our lives exponentially. My approach I’m a flexible provider. That is, I don’t utilize a strict curriculum for all my clients. Therapy should mold to fit you, you shouldn’t have to mold to fit the treatment. During sessions, I also like to draw from my lived experience to help clients. I find that using some of life’s lessons outside of the therapy room can be extremely beneficial in helping to relate and guide others in similar situations. My focus I enjoy helping clients who are ready to work, curious, and have a desire to learn. Although I see all types of clients, I have experience in helping adolescent and adult males establish and resolve identity issues, as well as treating clients with substance abuse and addiction concerns. My communication style My style is conversational and not a good fit for clients who are looking for rigid, curriculum-based treatment. My background, like most, is varied, and I draw on life experiences, common sense, and acceptance for what cannot be controlled to construct a framework of communication that is honest, direct, and empathetic. My journey to mental healthcare Through various life experiences and different career pathways, I determined that I was drawn to understanding people more completely. I would seek to understand why individuals do what they do, what constructs how they think, and how they can remove self-imposed barriers to greater life improvement and fulfillment.
