What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session is about feeling safe and supported so that you can open up about your life experiences and what your goals are. It's okay if you don't have it all figured out. It takes time to understand where you've been and what you've been through. My approach to therapy is holistic and I'm excited to be able to support clients on their healing journey by incorporating breathwork, meditation, and movement into our sessions so that they can slowly release the physical impact of stress that often gets stuck in the body. I also utilize traditional modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), that help clients understand the relationship between negative thought patterns, behaviors, and beliefs. When needed, I will incorporate therapeutic homework in the form of clinical exercises and therapeutic worksheets so that clients can learn different coping mechanisms to help increase their confidence and support healthy life choices. It takes time to heal from past wounds and courage to ask for help. I look forward to supporting you on your path to wellness and self-discovery.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I became a therapist because I have always wanted to help people work through adversity and grow through the challenges and obstacles in their lives so that they can become the best versions of themselves. I help people discover who they are and what their strengths and passions are. I utilize a combination of traditional talk therapy (CBT) and somatic therapies. I have always been drawn to the healing arts and the introspective work that can be found through creative writing, journaling, and the body-mind connection that is cultivated through the physical practices of yoga and qigong. There is nothing more empowering and life-changing than discovering your inner strength and developing the courage to face your fears and live life with purpose and intention.
