Psychotherapist

Bringing yourself to the point of asking for assistance can be difficult. Helping you achieve the quality life you seek is my priority. I provide clinical psychotherapy online only. I find that clients connect better when they are in their comfort zone, and it is much more convenient since they no longer have to travel to an office. Specific concerns addressed include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, couples issues, individual issues, family conflict and teen issues. I assist adults who have fractured parent relationships which are eroding their adult personal relationship developments. Specialized focus: military/law enforcement/first responders and their families. As a retired law enforcement officer and US Army veteran I have extensive first hand experience in dealing with trauma, grief, loss, and related family distress. In private practice for over 20 years, I hold a PhD in Psychology and a Master's degree in Counseling.

What should a new client know about working with you?

With over 20 years as a provider, I find that cognitive behavioral therapy with a Rogerian perspective, works well. The Rogerian perspective is unconditional positive regard to the client. Accountability is crucial to client success as they are ultimately the person who decides to implement or not, the cognitive tools discussed in session to address their specific issues.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sessions are conducted online, from the location of the client's choosing (home, office, car). We work together to address concerns, working toward the understanding that they are the drivers of their mental health, as they select their behavioral choices. The knowledge that they do have control over their thoughts and behavior choices, leads them to acceptance of personal accountability, which leaves them empowered.
