Getting to know Jessica Keeney

Jessica Keeney, MHC-LP, holds a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from St. John's University and is dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate the complexities of anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions. With a compassionate approach, she works collaboratively with her clients to understand their unique experiences and develop personalized strategies that promote healing and growth. Whether you're dealing with the stress of everyday changes or seeking deeper insight into your mental health, she is here to help you find your path toward well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When starting your journey with me, expect a therapeutic process that respects and follows your lead. My approach is to support you in a manner that aligns with your comfort and needs. While I often incorporate homework or in-session exercises to delve into feelings, memories, and more, please know these methods are entirely optional. You're empowered to modify our approach at any time, ensuring the therapy aligns with your personal growth path. Your well-being and autonomy are my priorities first.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I typically use a blend of Person-centered (where the client's individual experience is the primary focus), Psychodynamic (exploring the influence of the past on present behavior), and CBT (addressing thought patterns and behaviors) techniques to help guide clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, and life stresses to healing and growth. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for another trauma-informed approach.
