Getting to know Jessica Kenney

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with specialized training in trauma and a little over 10 years of experience in social work. While trauma-focused approaches are often associated with past traumatic experiences, this framework can also be highly effective for concerns such as anxiety, depression, attachment difficulties, and challenges related to life transitions. My therapeutic style is direct yet patient, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I work closely with clients to identify their goals and support progress toward a healthier level of functioning using practical strategies tailored to each individual. I value flexibility within professional boundaries and strive to create a space where clients feel respected, understood, and supported. I have experience working with clients across the lifespan and enjoy supporting individuals navigating change, stress, and personal growth. Therapy with me is active and goal-focused, emphasizing clarity, skill-building, and meaningful progress at a pace that feels manageable and sustainable. Appointment requests submitted through Zocdoc are reviewed and confirmed by the provider to ensure accurate scheduling across multiple platforms. Once confirmed, appointments will be honored as scheduled.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Yes, what to expect! First session will feel somewhat like an interview, very guided. The second session we will develop goal and start to discuss motivation for reaching these goals- this is collaborative but you are the boss of your therapy sessions. Overall therapy should feel like a conversation you are having with a trusted, safe person. I do my best to make my clients feel comfortable and really get to know you in order to give you a space to truly practice radical honesty with yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Currently I am only offering sessions online. For clients local to San Antonio, later this year I will be getting an office space, so this could change. I do currently offer in home sessions for some families in San Antonio as well. Once I recieve your request to schedule, I will call within 24-48 business hours to get you on the schedule for an intake. I will send you some intake paperwork and a doxy me link. If you have any issues navigating these- you can always reach out!
