Getting to know Jessica Roberts

I specialize in affirming your strengths while identifying your barriers to growth. It gives me joy to help you see the “true self” that may have been obscured by feelings of anxiety and depression. By remembering and connecting with who you are, you are able to enact a vision of who you want to become. My clients are able to feel more comfortable in their own skin and achieve their goals of greater balance and peace in their lives. I especially enjoy working with young women to help you on your journey of self-discovery both individually and in relationship. I hold a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Prescott College and a Certificate in Trauma, Abuse, and Deprivation from Ottawa University, which inform my compassionate and informed approach to therapy. You've already taken the first and scariest step by looking through this directory. I encourage you to give counseling a try, even if you've had negative experiences in the past.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During your first session, we'll talk about why you are seeking therapy and I'll gather some background information. We will also discuss the goals you want to work on in sessions, and how often you want to meet. If you are interested I'll send you some resources and homework to do between sessions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is practical and down to earth. Together we would find techniques that work for YOU to soothe and calm yourself when you're worried, sad or angry. We can talk about communication skills and setting boundaries. I'm also happy to just listen. Check out the photos section for reviews from some past clients.

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $100 for 60 minutes
Ongoing session: $100 for 60 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork

More information on payments and coverage

Once you input your information on Headway, they will tell you what your session cost will be and handle the billing. I also work with Open Path to do a sliding scale from $40-$70 if you don't have insurance.
