Getting to know JoLynn Bitler

Hello, I'm JoLynn, and you can call me Jo. I've been told that I have a disarming style—comfortable yet challenging. I strive to create a warm, humorous, and thoughtful environment that is both energetic and down-to-earth. With over a decade of counseling experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and compassion to my practice. I earned my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. My training has equipped me to work with families, couples, men and women, children, and adolescents from diverse backgrounds, and I am comfortable helping individuals from various walks of life. Establishing a good foundation for mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. We evaluate and develop protective factors such as personal support, exercise, sleep habits, and healthy personal outlets. I use an eclectic approach, such as CBT, DBT, ACT, narrative, and experiential therapies, as well as psycho-education, to teach skills to manage symptoms. For personal growth, I use my "home" framework of psychodynamics to examine unconscious and conscious thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that can inhibit interpersonal and intrapersonal effectiveness. Psychodynamic psychotherapy works best with individuals who can self-reflect. In addition, I use my approaches to accommodate the needs of those who identify as Christians.
