Getting to know Jonathan Nelson
Life is anything but predictable. Dreams of desire and destiny, produce within each of us the belief that we can go anywhere we choose, that we can plot our own course and be the captain of our own ship. Then the winds come and the rain falls. The course of one’s life can be forever altered by the decisions of others and the success of our efforts can enhance our determination and increase our reach for that which seems unattainable.
Are you confused, frustrated or lost with where you are in life? Quietly questioning your life’s direction, while others around you seemingly ride the waves of success, happiness and peace?
With an understanding of the reality and difficulty of personal change and the seemingly paralyzing impacts of life’s challenges, I believe that your perspective greatly influences your confidence and ability to embrace personal change. Transformational power resides not in assigning blame, but in assuming responsibility. You need to be willing, ready and able to make the hard decisions necessary to courageously face that which you may have been running from. When the storms of life come and confusion hovers around you like a fog, correcting the course of your life can be a frightening and challenging task.
I want to help you make a course correction that will not only improve the quality of your life, but will assist you in getting to a better place, however you choose to define it. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Masters Level Certified Addictions Professional and a Tobacco Treatment Specialist. I hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Central Florida, am a Certified Moral Reconation Therapy Instructor and a Certified Facilitator for Prepare/Enrich Ministry (Pre-Marital Counseling).
What should a new client know about working with you?
Connection is critical, trust is foundational. That takes some time. My goal in our first session is to listen to what you are experiencing and to ensure that I fully understand your particular challenge. Once I have been able to accurately reflect what you're struggling with, I then want to shift into a ""Solution Focused"" mindset. I will work with you to identify and shape your goal and then discuss objectives or steps that you'll take to reach that goal. I will ask questions if I need clarification and may ask you to elaborate on what you've stated. It is my goal that you know you were heard and understood, you will have an action plan and an atmosphere where you can practice authenticity and vulnerability. Minor shifts make big changes.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
