Getting to know Jordan Lightner

I began working as a clinician in residential treatment in 2022, where I had the honor of helping veterans and first responders heal from trauma and substance abuse. As a former first responder and United States Army combat medic, I have had the privilege of serving others in some of the most challenging environments. This journey has shaped my deep understanding of trauma, addiction, and personality disorders. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio, and I’m eager to apply my experiences and education to help those navigating their own struggles.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in helping individuals confront and heal from the effects of trauma, whether it be from personal experiences, addiction, or difficult life circumstances. My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and a commitment to personalized care. I am a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP) and use EMDR and post-traumatic growth in my approach. My time in the military and as a first responder has given me a unique perspective on the challenges people face when dealing with trauma. I have also been through therapy to overcome my own trauma. Over the years, I’ve developed a deep compassion for those struggling with these issues and I’m committed to providing a safe, supportive space for healing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I use Headway to manage my billing and admin work so that I can place all of my focus on our work together. Headway manages everything related to payments and insurance to make things as easy as possible for you.
