What should a new client know about working with you?

Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience working with adults. I am currently accepting new clients. My goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment where I will meet you with a balance empathy and understanding, while challenging you to help you meet your goals. Together, we will gain insight on your core beliefs, interrupt unhelpful thinking patterns, learn new coping skills, identify goals and begin to heal and build a life for you to grow. I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, alcohol use and substance use. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify thoughts that are not serving you. Together we can explore the meaning behind these thoughts and ways to combat them to help you feel better and engage in helpful behaviors that can help you create the life you want. I additionally use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat trauma. Your therapy journey deserves to be treated with compassion and individuality and I am here to support you with every step! If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to schedule a consultation. I look forward to tailoring your therapeutic journey to what you need.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session will include a background assessment and history gathering. This is needed to gather the best information to help set treatment goals. In the following sessions, we work towards achieving those treatment goals together. The average length of therapy is 6 to 12 sessions however depending on your goals or if any more treatment goals are added, this can take longer, but it doesn’t have to. Therapy is collaborative and you will always decide what is best for you. If you decide brief therapy is more what your looking for I can absolutely accommodate that. I value a client being motivated in treatment and it will be both of our jobs to reach your treatment goals. We will also develop action plans which will be things you are going to work on in between sessions to help you reach your goals faster. I love being a therapist and have loved my clients and I can't wait to work with you and be a part of your journey.
