“I've really enjoyed my sessions with Joyce. She is not pretentious, formal, or stuffy. She talks to me like another human, not some gifted expert that "knows it all." Since the start, I have found her easy to talk to and she helps me find solutions that are actually doable for me!”

As a therapist with a Master’s in Counselor Education from McDaniel College and a Bachelor’s degree from Washington Adventist University, I use an eclectic approach, drawing from various methods to best meet your individual needs. My clients often find me relaxed, empathic, and nurturing. My style is marked by warmth, empathy, candor, and a bit of humor. I work to build a respectful, trusting environment where clients feel confident and safe discussing their issues. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is the single most important predictor of successful therapy. My emphasis is on creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space in which to explore and develop insights into underlying feelings, issues, and thoughts.
