Julie Daley, LSW

Psychotherapist
929 W Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL
Life can be challenging, and sometimes it's hard to know which way to turn. I aim to create a safe space in which to explore life's challenges and help my clients find more comfortable and effective ways of coping. My style is casual and conversational, and I am not opposed to using humor. I believe in collaboration and meeting my clients where they are at. We will work together to identify and explore life problems and find sustainable solutions. I earned my Master of Social Work at Walden University in the winter of 2024, with a concentration in trauma studies. I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre at the University of Connecticut in 1992. I spent twenty years in the theatre and decided to change careers ten years ago after seeking services myself. I found the help I needed and a new passion. Prior to earning my degree and becoming a therapist, I worked in residential and community mental health settings as a peer counselor supporting individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, substance use issues, and trauma. My approach is strength-based and trauma-informed, drawing on concepts from Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamics, and Positive Psychology. I am amazed at the resilience of the human spirit and find great joy in helping people. I would be honored to help you on your mental wellness journey.
