What should a new client know about working with you?

Justin takes an eclectic approach to psychotherapy combining techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Client-Centered Therapy to bring clients treatment that is as unique as their own experiences. He values adaptability and is continuing to expand his toolbox of approaches and techniques to meet his clients where they are by providing individualized mental health. Justin has had experience working with a diverse group of clients navigating issues such as depression, anxiety, life adjustments, burnout, trauma, self-esteem, and interpersonal problems. Justin has a greater degree of familiarity when it comes to men’s mental health issues, the stigmas around masculinity and identity that come with societal expectations. Justin is also passionate about working with BIPOC, LGBTQ+ individuals and any marginalized groups struggling with their place in the world.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Foundational to Justin’s approach is that therapy is a safe and beneficial experience for each individual and family he works with. Meeting clients where they are is how he builds a therapeutic relationship allowing for vulnerability. By creating a nonjudgmental and warm environment Justin helps his clients to learn effective coping mechanisms for their immediate concerns and develop greater awareness of the root causes of their struggles.
