What should a new client know about working with you?

I take an eclectic approach, meaning I do not like to use only one therapeutic method because, like humans, therapy is a different experience for everyone. Using the information from the session, I adapt modern psychodynamic, attachment theory, and some cognitive theories to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and find the best methods to tackle your concerns.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is a way to get to know each other and to build trust slowly. I understand that each client has a different relationship with therapy; whether they were in treatment several times over, or the session is their first ever. Our first session is where I get to know what brought you here, gather information to help start building a foundation of insight, and for you to start getting to know me as well. I prioritize clear, open communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Like any therapist, calmness and patience are what you expect from me, but in addition, I honor the back and forth, where our sessions are a conversation.
