Sometimes, it can be hard to identify and express the impact that previous experiences, emotional processing, and the conversations we have with ourselves have on our lives. These factors can unknowingly disrupt our relationships, hopes for the future, and overall well-being. Our experiences are unique and ever-evolving, just like the way our brains respond to them. My mission is to help clients understand the intricacies of their brain and its ability to change. Often, certain patterns in our brain can hold us back from realizing our full potential and self-worth. Together, we will use creative methods to rewire and refire your brain, improving your reasoning, emotional control, engagement, confidence, and outlook on life. The journey to self-improvement may seem daunting and lonely, but much like creating art, the process can be as rewarding as reaching your end goal. My ultimate aim is to support you wherever you are in your journey toward becoming your best self. When I started considering myself an artist, my inner critic turned into a judgmental perfectionist. Everything I attempted never met the critic’s demands, preventing me from starting or finishing most things. The struggling artist was compromised further when I broke my dominant hand and needed surgery. The artist was off the hook, but the art student was doomed. I catastrophized the situation and felt my life and purpose had to be paused. This experience helped me realize the power of art as therapy and redefined who I thought I was—the artist within—and my work. While teaching myself to paint and draw with my left hand, I learned my art was not defined by how good it looked but by how good it felt. My canvas and the story it tells are greater than the “mistakes” I thought I was making. I earned my Master’s in Art Therapy from Long Island University, which deepened my understanding of the healing potential of creative expression.
