What should a new client know about working with you?

Our work together is based on trust, openness, curiosity, and unconditional positive regard. Therapy is a process based on these principles. Our sessions are 55 minutes in length on Zoom which is a HIPAA compliant platform. I encourage my clients to have art materials, headphones, water, and tissues on hand as I would have in my physical office. It is important that you are in a safe and quiet space for the work we do and that there is time before and after our sessions for individual processing and self-care. I am a music therapist and psychotherapist and sometimes we will incorporate music, art, and creative inquiry to help uncover and unlock parts of the self that may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unable to move forward. EMDR is introduced after a few sessions if the client is wanting to delve into that work for release of trauma symptoms.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The work we do together on your goals for well-being is a shared, collaborative experience that helps to uncover and discover parts in a sacred space where emotions, feelings, and thoughts can be explored and navigated safely. Different techniques are applied depending on what comes up during session including EMDR, art, music, guided imagery, sound healing, Reiki, and talk therapy.
