Keisha Johnson, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
Hello, my name is Keisha Johnson, LPC, CPCS in the state of Georgia. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC, and my Master's in Counseling and Psychological Services from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA. More recently, I earned a Master's in Business Administration from Keller University. I have over 10 years of experience working with emotionally behavior-disordered children and individuals with dual diagnosis through my own agency. I also work with adults, adolescents, and children, providing individual, group, and family counseling for psychiatric and dual diagnosis clients. My approach As a counselor, I believe individuals need hope and empowerment to begin the change process. My goal in counseling is to help clients discover their individual strengths, identify and cancel out dysfunctional thought processes, and replace them with positive and realistic thinking. I believe many problems arise from poor communication patterns learned in the home over the years. To bring healing and hope, these patterns must be modified or replaced. I utilize concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy to support clients through change. My focus I typically work with clients dealing with PTSD, trauma, adolescent issues, parenting, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, dual diagnosis, panic attacks, and mentoring. My communication style I like to create an open, relaxing, and comfortable environment where clients feel free to express themselves without judgment or shame. I strive to build a relatable connection so clients understand they are not alone in this fight to improve their lives-everyone has struggles. My journey to therapy I have always been the one people could talk to and depend on.
