Getting to know Kellie Waters

*This provider does not accept any Medicaid or Medicare plans* Kellie Waters has a Master of Social Work from Boston College. Kellie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW #44SC06625700 at Cerebral. Mind, body, and soul-they’re all equally vital to our well-being. Grounded in my ministry background, I approach therapy with all three in mind, so that every part of you gets the attention and care it deserves. Our sessions will focus on who you are and how you became that person. Together we’ll address problems that need solutions or work through an old wound that is nagging you. Throughout it all, we’ll find joy-because while this work is serious, I believe in the power of laughter to make it all a bit lighter. Sometimes connection and listening are enough, and sometimes they’re not. Pain is universal to the human experience, and it’s a gift to sit with folks in that. There are also tangible, clinical methods we can use to ease the pain. Life comes with its seasons, each with its unique blend of grace and struggle. Mental health plays a big part in sculpting those seasons. Let’s talk about where you are right now-embracing the beauty, tackling the challenges, and everything in between.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Mental health challenges can impact every aspect of our lives, so when something is not feeling right, it is important to give it the attention it needs. My clients are often experiencing major life transitions, relationship turbulence, or effects from past trauma. When navigating something like this, you deserve a compassionate, trusting space to process your thoughts and emotions, and that is what I am to give you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy is a journey. Throughout that journey, I will work to understand who you are, how you became that person, and who it is you desire to be. Our session content will vary based on your specific needs at that time, but we will continue to work towards your overall goal(s) that led you to therapy. While I take our work together very seriously, I also try to make it light when appropriate so it is easier for you to understand how to move forward.
