UpLift Behavioral Health providers do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by any federal or state agency or other drugs that may be harmful because of their potential for abuse. UpLift Behavioral Health reserves the right to limit the types of medications that may be prescribed by its doctors and nurse practitioners. All prescriptions furnished by UpLift Behavioral Health care providers are issued in accordance with applicable federal and state law as well as UpLift Behavioral Health policy. Using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Relational Therapy, I am passionate about helping people on their journey towards healing. My typical areas of focus include the connection between the past and present, emotion identification and exploration, and how thoughts and feelings have a circular impact on behavior. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Maryland, which has equipped me with a strong foundation to support my clients effectively. I particularly love providing couples counseling by facilitating meaningful conversations. Counseling topics might include challenging life stages, emotional or physical disconnection, communication barriers, pre-marital preparation, parenting or co-parenting challenges, and more. I look forward to partnering in our work together!

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have a compassion-centered and holistic approach to therapy. I partner with individuals and couples in goal-directed work. I specialize in relationship and family challenges, life stage transitions, co-parenting, and childhood struggles re-surfacing in adulthood. I will adapt to your needs and can offer solution-focused brief therapy or longer-term approaches.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I follow the client's pace, and I openly discuss what to expect, next steps in the process, and how we will create goals that will drive our work. I believe that therapy is not a time for surprises or uncertainty. I like to have informal check-ins with clients to make sure needs are being met. I also use more formalized assessment tools to make sure we're making progress in therapy. I typically meet with clients weekly in the beginning and might offer biweekly or monthly appointments during the maintenance phase after goals are met. Together, we will decide when our time together will end.
