Getting to know Kelsey Scott

Growing up with a mother who struggled with substance use and a father carrying deep, unhealed trauma shaped me in profound ways-some I'm deeply grateful for, and others I continue to heal from. One of the most common questions therapists are asked is, ?What made you choose this field?? For me, the simplest answer is this: I became the person I needed when I was younger. I chose this path to hold space for others in their pain, to remind them they're not alone, and to offer the kind of presence and support I longed for as a child. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support individuals and couples effectively. Now, as a new parent, I find myself offering that same presence to my son-showing up for him in the ways I wasn't always prioritized growing up. There's a quiet, powerful beauty in being able to witness someone's most vulnerable moments and offer them safety, understanding, and care. This is the heart of my work. I'm deeply committed to helping people strengthen the connections within their most meaningful relationships. With advanced training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, I specialize in guiding couples through the healing process after infidelity, rebuilding emotional and physical intimacy, improving communication, and navigating life's many stressors together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach therapy from a systemic lens—recognizing that each person is shaped by the family, cultural, and spiritual systems around them. This perspective allows me to support clients in creating meaningful, lasting change not just within themselves, but within their relationships and communities as well.

My first appointment with Kelsey was unique in the sense that I was in the midst of a minor personal crisis. Kelsey was extraordinary. Calming, welcoming, and engaging. Very personal and caring touch without any judgmental comments, glares, or opinions. I look forward to a long relationship with this awesome therapist!

Kelsey exudes calm, offers keen insight into your emotional patterns, makes you feel important, and you don't dread going to therapy! Relief!
Kelsey is very kind and warm, and I’ve felt very comfortable opening up to her about my mental health. I especially appreciate that she understands and appreciates many types of relationships. I’ve learned so much about myself, my family history, and making connections from my past which informs my present. I’ve healed so much over the past 5 months working with Kelsey. I feel like I’m talking to a friend, and that is important to me.
I can’t tell you how much better I feel after just a few sessions with a Kelsey! Her calming tone and ability to truly make you feel comfortable have made this process so much better.
Kelsey was very calm and welcoming from the start, she made my partner and I feel very relaxed, comfortable, and we already feel a difference after one meeting, we will continue to see her but are more hopeful than ever about our future together. She was very professional and for someone who really was against therapy my opinion was changed for the better at the end. Would recommend her to my friends and family.
I was having relationship issues over and over again with different partners. I didn’t understand why I was having such bad luck. Kelsey really helped me see my part in the dysfunction and as a result changed the way I behaved and changed my experience. Life changing experience.
Relationships were an absolute mess. Kelsey made me see how I co created my experience. If you can get in to see her you're lucky!
I went to see this therapist as a referral from a colleague. Best thing I have ever did for myself. I have regained my self-confidence after a challenging divorce.
I felt very at ease and comfortable with Kelsey. I have a hard time trusting and opening up, but speaking with Kelsey, I can truly tell I am in a safe place where I can be myself. I highly recommend. Thank you for all you’ve done for me.
