What should a new client know about working with you?

If you're feeling burned out, overwhelmed, or like you're being pulled in a dozen directions between work, family, and everyday responsibilities, you're not alone, and you don't have to figure it out by yourself. I take a holistic, client-centered approach, which means therapy with me isn't one-size-fits-all. We'll start by understanding what's really going on, whether that's family conflict, a major life transition, grief, or the everyday stress of managing competing responsibilities, and build a plan around your specific strengths and goals. You can expect a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you're free to be honest without fear of judgment. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, and Narrative Therapy, so our work together can flex to fit what you actually need session to session. My background also includes crisis intervention and care coordination, so if you're navigating a particularly difficult moment, I'm equipped to support you through it. Above all, my goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered as we work toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is focused on getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. I'll ask about what's been weighing on you, whether that's anxiety, depression, grief, a life transition, or the strain of caregiving or parenting responsibilities, and we'll start identifying what support looks like for you. From there, we build a treatment approach together, drawing from methods like CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy depending on what resonates with you. Sessions typically include checking in on how things have been since we last met, working through specific challenges or patterns together, and building practical coping strategies you can use in daily life. I regularly revisit your goals with you throughout treatment, since growth isn't always a straight line, and adjust our approach as your needs change. If you're facing a crisis or an especially difficult period, I'm also able to provide additional support and stabilization as part of your care. Ultimately, therapy with me is a partnership. My role is to walk alongside you, offer tools and insight grounded in evidence-based practice, and help you build the confidence and resilience to navigate life's challenges long after our work together ends.
