“I was hesitant to try talk therapy because of my unusual work schedule that changes seasonally throughout the year, I wasn’t sure I could commit. Kristy made me feel so comfortable right away with taking it week by week and letting her know ahead of time how the week was looking before our session would be held. Very accommodating! She gave a great first impression and explained things clearly but also listened well. I’m excited to work with her! ”

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use a person-centered, solution-focused approach and seek clients open to change through counseling. My experience includes depression, anxiety, and working with victims and offenders of sexual abuse. I’ve supported clients of various genders, ages 12 to 76, and those with IDD. While much of my work has been with IDD individuals, I aim to expand to the general population, helping clients navigate complex emotions and challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Life is hard and life is tough, but I am always trying to find the smile in each day. I have a positive outlook and a calm demeanor. I truly believe that our minds are so powerful and we have the ability to change our emotions by changing our outlook on a situation. Through my own experiences I know what it is like to feel at the end of the rope, and I know what it is like to get past that depression and live a healthy, happy life. Through working with families in foster care and students in the school system I see how truly difficult life is for some people. I enjoy showing people that no matter how difficult times are right now, life does get better. I have responded to numerous crisis situations so I am really good and remaining calm and focused regardless of what a client is telling me.
