Hello! I am LaShay Dupree, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping individuals navigate the complexities of their lives. My journey in social work began with my undergraduate studies at the University of Houston, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in May 2000. This foundational education sparked my interest in understanding human behavior and mental health, and it laid the groundwork for my future career. After completing my degree, I dove into the field, eager to apply my knowledge and make a difference. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, from children as young as four to adults as old as 99. This wide range of experience has enriched my understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals at different life stages. Each client has taught me something valuable, and I strive to honor their stories and experiences in our work together. In December 2017, I completed my Master’s in Social Work at the University of New England, which further deepened my skills and knowledge. My graduate education equipped me with advanced therapeutic techniques and a more nuanced understanding of social systems. It was during this time that I developed a strong commitment to person-centered care, recognizing the importance of addressing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—in my practice. Throughout my career, I have worked in various settings, including community mental health clinics, schools, and private practice. Each environment has presented unique challenges and opportunities for growth. I have learned to adapt my approach to meet the specific needs of my clients, whether they are facing mental health issues, navigating grief, or dealing with the impacts of trauma.
