Psychotherapist
UT
Hi there, I'm Laura! My name is Laura Bartschi, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of West Alabama. I work mostly with young adults and specialize in anxiety, stress, and life transitions, using CBT, DBT, and EMDR to help my clients make progress and start feeling better. My approach As your therapist, it is important to me that you feel heard. I offer a safe space where you can express yourself without judgment. My main approach to therapy is person-centered because you know your pain and need a place to express it. I also understand that humor can lessen that pain at times. For those who want to get down to business, I utilize Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). My focus I have found my style and perspective fit young adults dealing with life transitions and social pressures. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, stress, and eating disorders. I help clients navigate these transitions and build skills to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life. My communication style I offer a fun and warm approach where we work together to achieve your goals. I use humor and empathy to create a comfortable therapeutic environment. My journey to mental healthcare I began as a Case Manager at a county mental health agency working with youth and young adults. Expanding into the school system, I saw the impact anxiety and stress have on functioning. I decided to further my education in counseling to help more people in a deeper, more connecting capacity. Being a counselor has been very rewarding, and I look forward to meeting you! My goals for you My approach to goal setting is about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together.
