Hi, I'm Laura and I believe that a sense of connection is critical to the process of healing and forming a meaningful life. You might feel like you’re drowning, overwhelmed by troubling thoughts. Or you might be struggling with the sense that no one really “gets” you. You might want to connect, but you don’t know how. Maybe you feel like you don’t know who you are or what’s important to you. This could lead you to feeling frustrated, alone or possibly even hurt. You deserve a space to explore and express yourself, feeling fully seen and accepted for who you are and who you are becoming. I know what it’s like to feel hopeless and like life will never get better. I know it can feel like the whole world is stacked against you and no one wants to help. I became a therapist to support people as they explore and define their values and identity, as well as to help them find their resilience and inner resources. I know how important it is to feel understood and I believe that creating connection is the root of being able to better understand and empathize with people on a deeper level. With more than 10 years’ experience working in the federal government, I am intimately aware of the effects of opaque systems on the people seeking help. Therefore, I know how critical both individual and societal connections are to well-being. I’m dedicated to exploring the connection between emotional, physical, and spiritual healing. I also love to work with younger folx exploring identity and values, neurodiverse individuals, and the LGBTQ+ community. I offer an empathetic, insightful, and direct approach. I believe strongly in our individual autonomy as the driver of the therapeutic process, and I am committed to respecting those boundaries at all times. I look forward to connecting!
