Hi, I’m Laura Kieling, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist with over 10 years of experience helping individuals and couples navigate anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. I created Peace Empowered as a safe and compassionate space where clients can feel truly seen, accepted, and supported without judgment. My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply rooted in helping clients reconnect with themselves emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. I specialize in working with individuals who may feel stuck in painful patterns, disconnected in relationships, emotionally exhausted, or overwhelmed by the demands of life. I also work with clients navigating codependency, nervous system dysregulation, self-worth struggles, attachment wounds, and unresolved trauma. My therapeutic style integrates evidence-based practices such as CBT, EMDR-informed approaches, somatic awareness, mindfulness, and parts work while also honoring the importance of self-compassion, personal growth, and healing at a deeper level. I believe healing begins when people feel safe enough to be honest about their pain and supported enough to move toward meaningful change. My goal is to help clients cultivate healthier relationships, greater emotional balance, inner peace, and a stronger connection to themselves and the life they want to create.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me is a collaborative and supportive process where you can show up exactly as you are. I strive to create an environment where clients feel emotionally safe, heard, and genuinely understood. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns. Together, we begin exploring the deeper experiences, beliefs, and emotional wounds that may be contributing to those struggles. My style is warm, compassionate, intuitive, and direct when needed. I believe therapy should not feel cold or overly clinical. I want clients to feel like they are working with someone who truly cares about their healing journey while also helping them develop practical tools and insight for lasting change. I often incorporate nervous system education, emotional processing, mindfulness, somatic awareness, boundary work, self-esteem building, and healthier communication patterns into sessions. I also believe healing involves reconnecting with the parts of ourselves we may have abandoned through stress, trauma, grief, or painful life experiences. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, grief, identity struggles, or personal growth, my goal is to help you move toward greater clarity, emotional regulation, self-trust, and peace.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first few sessions are focused on building trust, understanding your story, and identifying the areas of life that are causing the most emotional distress or disconnection. I take time to understand your background, relationships, stressors, coping patterns, emotional experiences, and goals for therapy. From there, we work together to create a treatment approach tailored to your specific needs. Sessions may include processing emotions, exploring relationship dynamics and behavioral patterns, learning coping and grounding skills, improving communication, addressing nervous system responses, and developing healthier ways to navigate stress and conflict. Depending on the client’s needs, I may integrate CBT techniques, mindfulness practices, somatic awareness, trauma-informed interventions, attachment-focused work, and EMDR-informed strategies. I also place a strong emphasis on self-awareness, emotional safety, and helping clients better understand the connection between past experiences and present struggles. My goal is not simply symptom management, but helping clients build deeper self-understanding, healthier relationships, emotional resilience, and long-term healing in their daily lives.
