Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I went to grad school and received great training as a therapist and licensed. I also took time out to be a stay-at-home mom. As a single mom, I finished my graduate degrees in psychology and MBA on Healthcare administration. Being true to myself and being authentic drove my personal and career growth. Learning and growing is a lifelong process and can include continued education and finding great mentors. I purposefully chose people who have more life experience than me, when I was younger. Navigating life successfully is all about learning what works and I like learning from others who are authentically successful! When looking for the right therapist, find a therapist who knows themselves and their issues, so they can be fully present for your needs. Not all graduate programs require therapists to go through therapy, and the risk can be therapist may unwittingly be working out their issues on the job. Other questions to ask hourself: Are they easy to talk to and share? Do I feel accepted and valued? Do they truly listen and do I feel heard? It is a privilege to help people improve their health and have them share their lives with me. It takes strength to ask for help and be willing to open up and share what one needs. I create safety and reassurance to support a judgment-free zone, offering reflection, care and concern. Therapy is a "we" thing! I don't have the answers or tell you what to do. I may have lots of questions, though. We find the right answers for you! My primary background and training approaches are solution-focused, strengths-based, family systems and motivational interviewing (readiness for change). I use a whole person health approach, not just focusing on BH. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LPC).
