I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. I work with individuals, ranging from adolescents to adults, as well as couples and families dealing with relationship issues. I have found that success in therapy is about helping people find their innate health and bringing out their strengths. This tends to be more effective and longer lasting than just “fixing” problems.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Though I have been trained in and use many evidence-based practices as a guide, I try to bring a client-centered approach to sessions. This will allow the client to help guide the course of treatment and allow for a mixture of different approaches depending on the unique nature of the issue and the client.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Goals are always an important part of therapy but can often be a distraction if you only see the "forest and not the trees". Developing goals can create a mutual understanding of direction and desired outcomes along with accountability to move forward in treatment. But flexibility and fluidity while keeping goals in mind are essential as self-discovery occurs, and perhaps the intended goals that therapy begins with change as the client changes.
