“Leann has been amazing. I have had some horrible experiences with therapists over the year so she has been a breath of fresh air. She has helped me tremendously with my Anxiety. What I like the most about her approach is all the education she has given me. She isn't just doing her therapy thing, she actually explains why she is doing what she is doing and teaches me about my body and why it is reacting the way it is. This has helped me make so much more sense of my anxiety and ultimately has given me the control back that I thought I may never have. I highly recommend her especially if you feel you have been doing the same thing over and over with every therapist you have met. Btw, she challenges you so be prepared to actually work. ”

“Like many, I was nervous to start therapy again (Leann is my 3rd go at finding someone). I really appreciated the intro paperwork and session required, it made my care feel comprehensive and transparent about how our patient-client-relationship would work. I am never concerned about what I can share with her, and most of all it feels like I am talking to a person; not just another clinician. At times we have run into scheduling hiccups, but she is always super flexible. ”

Getting to know Leann Borneman

Sexual dysfunctions and anxiety can be really overwhelming and debilitating. Feeling shame, guilt, or embarrassment is exhausting and can make you feel alone. Anxiety can make it feel like you can hardly breathe and keep your head above water at times. We all deserve to feel in control and confident within ourselves. Wouldn't it be great to feel empowered with who you are, feel confident and secure again with no restrictions? Become the version of yourself that you have been longing for. What you feel and are experiencing is valid. Therapy is a place to learn more than what you know and break free from those restrictions that are holding you back. I am transparent, bubbly, and scientifically and medically driven. I provide the challenge and growth you are looking for and, most importantly, the validation you deserve! I hold a Master's in Social Welfare from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, which informs my approach and commitment to your well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I focus on Anxiety Disorders & Sex Therapy of all stages of life for individuals & couples. Areas of expertise include; Sexual Dysfunctions (i.g., Erectile Disorder, Diminished Desire, Pelvic Pain), Paraphilia's, the stress response cycle & the link between stress & Anxiety & ones nervous system. I take a Neuroscience approach when working with anxiety.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We first have an intake session that is 60 minutes long. This is to help gather all needed knowledge on why you are seeking services. During this session it allows me to collaborate what your goals will be for therapy. We then meet for 45 minute sessions, either weekly or biweekly, to work on the goals outlined. I am empathetic and validating to my clients but will provide challenge for my clients.

Leann is a very caring and genuine therapist. Our sessions have helped me make many positive changes in my life.
10/10 Dr. Borneman is one of the best in the biz! I could not recommend her services more.

I was really nervous to start Sex Therapy. Growing up and even now, people don't really talk about sex. Working with Leann has allowed me to feel empowered in my sexuality and learn to remove the shame that I learned growing up. She has always been validating and I never feel judged. Honestly, I never thought I would talk about half the stuff I have with anyone, ever! I have worked with a few other therapist in the past but none has ever provided the education she does in sessions that makes everything just make sense.
Leann is amazing! She is so easy to talk to and she really listens to everything you say. She's helped me in several different areas of my life and helped build confidence in areas I didn't have any. She has made difficult topics to talk about, like dating and sexuality, easy to discuss. Happy to say I've seen a lot of progress since starting with Leann.
Leann is a very down to earth therapist who has helped me over come my anxiety with the work we have done. Honestly, I feel like I wouldn’t be where I am without her help and support.
I have been seeing Leann for 3 years, primarily focusing on PTSD/Trauma Recovery. One of her greatest assets is approaching treatment in an individualized manner. She tailored my treatment based on how I, personally, best learn and process. I am a noticeably different person (in the best way) since starting treatment with Leann; I am much more patient and kind to myself and constantly notice where I'm making progress.
