Getting to know LeAnn Weamer

I have practiced Social Work at the micro, macro, and mezzo level. I have provided individual, family, group and addictions therapy. I have worked as a school-based mental health therapist with children and adolescents, investigated vulnerable adult abuse, assisting individuals and families advocate for social justice, provided individual and group therapy sessions in a medical setting on an acute inpatient where I create treatment plans and provide group, individual, and family therapy sessions, while encouraging using a strengths based approach.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Building rapport is the first and most important factor when building a positive therapeutic relationship. I am empathetic, compassionate, open-minded, optimistic, and can find the positive in any situation. Honest and clear communication will help achieve and maintain a positive therapeutic relationship.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Intakes include obtaining client’s presenting problems and history to help determine the client's treatment and discharge plan. Treatment planning is client-centered and encouraged to be actively engaged with creating individual treatment plans. CBT and DBT are the modalities I utilize.
