Getting to know Lisa El ALam

My name is Lisa El-Alam, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker - Clinical. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Spring Arbor University. I have worked with various populations, though mostly with Veterans. I have advanced trauma training and am CCTP-II certified. I have experience working with trauma survivors on all levels, including combat traumas, other military trauma, sexual traumas, childhood trauma, and domestic abuse. I have also worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, as well as couples and relationship stress.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients typically express feeling lighter after sessions. Our client therapist relationship is important and we will build that trust together at your pace. Clients express feeling at ease expressing, thoughts, feelings & emotions. I see emotional growth in clients who complete treatment, and I am grateful to be apart of that healing journey with you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

use a warm and positive holistic approach to therapy. I am able to work with individuals at wherever your story begins and support you in your healing process from there. I am certified in interventions such as EMDR and Hypnotherapy. I am also trained in the Gottman Method to guide couples into healthier relationships.
