Getting to know Lisa LaBrusciano

Welcome! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-D) who believes therapy should be a collaborative and supportive process. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, panic, relationship conflict, communication difficulties, boundary-setting challenges, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and difficulty managing intense emotions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I tailor therapy to each client's unique needs and goals, mainly drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Clients can expect a balance of validation, curiosity, practical strategies, and honest feedback. My goal is to help you feel more equipped to manage life's challenges while creating meaningful progress toward your personal goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is primarily focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. I will ask questions related your current concerns, relationships, personal history, strengths, and goals in order to develop a clearer picture of your experiences. As I gather information, I may begin sharing observations and hypotheses about patterns or underlying factors that could be contributing to the challenges you're facing. From there, therapy becomes a collaborative process. I view therapy as an active partnership and I encourage open feedback throughout the process so that our work remains aligned with your goals.
