Psychologist
CA
My name is Dr. Lisa Miller, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from the Chicago School, as well as a Doctorate in Christian Ministry (D.Min.). I also hold a Master's degree from Antioch University, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor's degree from California State University, Northridge. I have been privileged to assist hurting people for over forty years. I work with clients throughout California via telehealth, including adolescents and adults, both single and married. I am a generalist treating anxiety, stress, and depression from diverse causes, and a specialist when symptoms stem from trauma, faith, sexual orientation, or gender identity. My approach My therapy approach varies based on each client's needs. I most frequently use Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These modalities help build a shared understanding of their reality and allow us to chart a path forward together. My focus My style suits teens and adults dealing with life transitions and social pressures. I help clients navigate these periods and build skills to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook. My communication style My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want clients to feel comfortable talking about anything. I listen without judgment and help them think through possibilities formed by my education and experience. My journey to mental healthcare I have always wanted to help people succeed in their life journeys. I have worked toward this goal as a therapist, minister, teacher, and outdoor recreationist. When not working, you'll find me on a cross-country bicycle trip or paddling down a river or in the ocean. My goals for you My approach to goal setting is about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together.
