Getting to know Lisa Wallace

Have you ever looked at your reflection and wondered who you are? Do you ever feel lost or wonder where you are headed? CONFESSION—I have. I realized later in life that my calling was to become a therapist. Before attending the University of Texas at Austin, where I earned my Master’s in Social Work, I received on-the-job training through my own experiences as a mother, wife, friend, colleague, and as an individual living with depression and anxiety. These experiences helped prepare me for my role as a therapist. My own struggles have enabled me to better connect with my clients. Just like my clients, I once searched for a therapist who would listen and understand where I was coming from. Finding a therapist can be a challenge—it involves opening up to a complete stranger about some of the hardest times in your life. From personal experience, I know the gains that can be made in therapy and the road to self-discovery. Treatment Focus I have experience working with a wide variety of populations and specialize in helping adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and bipolar disorder. My primary approach tends to be person-centered therapy combined with cognitive behavioral therapy. Core beliefs are an important area I encourage clients to explore. Often, individuals may not recognize how their thinking patterns have affected many areas of their lives. I help clients conceptualize the life they want and consider the action steps needed to make that life happen. Yes, therapy can take time and effort, but if the payoff is discovering the best version of yourself, isn’t it worth it? Patient Promise One thing I can ensure is that I will provide a safe space for you to explore your beliefs—beliefs about yourself and the world around you. I am passionate about helping individuals discover who they are and what they want. If you are ready to begin this journey, I would be honored to work with you.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
