What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm a practical, straightforward therapist who believes that therapy should help you make sense of your experience and feel more capable of navigating your life — not more confused or dependent. I draw heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and integrate evidence-based techniques, always with an eye on what actually works for you. My approach is collaborative and grounded. I'm not big on fluff or overly abstract theory. Instead, I focus on helping you understand patterns, shift perspectives, and build concrete tools to cope, problem-solve, and move forward. I’m also a big believer in using logic and real-world thinking — if you’re worried about something, we’ll look at the actual odds or explore the narrative you're telling yourself and whether it holds up. I’ll always be honest with you, and I appreciate the same in return. You won’t be judged here — my job is to help, not to criticize. People have told me they feel like I “get it” without needing a lot of explanation, and that therapy with me feels both grounded and empowering. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, we’ll probably work well together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first few sessions, I’ll want to get a clear understanding of what’s bringing you in, what’s been going on, and what your goals are — even if those goals are still a little fuzzy. I’ll ask questions, but I’m not rigid about it. I try to keep things conversational and make sure you feel like a person, not a case file. As we continue, we’ll focus on patterns, thoughts, behaviors, and whatever else is showing up for you — whether it’s anxiety, relationship issues, self-doubt, or something you haven’t quite figured out yet. I tend to ask direct questions, offer feedback, and help you step back and look at things from a wider lens. I also like to tie things back to real-life context: how your brain is reacting, how your experiences shaped you, and how to shift what’s not working. A typical session is part problem-solving, part reflection, and part figuring out what tools will actually help you feel more in control. I won’t just nod and ask how that makes you feel — unless that’s actually useful in the moment.
