Getting to know Lorena Lues
I appreciate an open dialogue with my clients that incorporates feedback to ensure their needs are being met during our time together. In my view, the client-therapist relationship should prioritize honesty and respect. While diagnosing is one aspect of psychotherapy, I am most interested in how your daily life is being impacted and what we can do in our work together to develop coping and awareness that will bring more harmony and help you lead a more fulfilled life. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support you effectively throughout our work together.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My approach is eclectic and may include a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and psychodynamic theory. I value the flexibility of utilizing a therapeutic technique that meets my client's needs with modifications as needed.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I am a licensed clinical social worker with over two decades of experience working in integrated behavioral health. This provided me the opportunity to truly comprehend the value of working with clients from a holistic perspective that prioritizes health promotion in treating mind and body as one. I am also a certified yoga teacher.
