Hello, I'm Lorrie. The way we respond to challenges is all about perspective, and I believe that reconnecting with yourself is an important place to start. Life can become a maze of work, family, and obligations, making it easy to lose yourself and difficult to find your way back. I work with many people who are experiencing anxiety, sadness, stress, and feeling overwhelmed with life, jobs, relationships, and social connections. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I know how important it is to feel heard and to have someone say, 'I hear you, and I understand where you are coming from.' When we lose our authentic selves and try to be what we think others want us to be, anxiety can take over, leaving us stuck and feeling lost. My style is to work with what you bring to the session. My agenda is to work with what you feel is calling you loudest. From there, I help you begin finding your own voice, since that is what is most important. I believe that you know what the next steps are; my job is to help guide you there. It is exciting to see all the possibilities and potential that we can incorporate into our lives. I use a cognitive approach in my practice, and I am trained to use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), otherwise known as tapping. This is an effective tool when dealing with many issues, including stress reduction, anxiety, and chronic pain relief.
