Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Lynn! Anxiety, stress, and adjustment to life changes can feel overwhelming. If it does, please know you're not alone; there are ways to move those periods. My role is to assist you in doing so. Whether those stresses are related to home life, work environment, or relationship concerns, I'd like to provide a supportive environment to assist you in addressing and resolving those conflicts/concerns. My approach I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to assist in identifying my clients' concerns. Being aware of the thought processes and use of mindfulness tools is helpful with creating changes and improving life's situations. CBT allows clients to make connections between thoughts and emotions as they work towards their therapeutic goals. The connection between thoughts and emotions, utilizing tools developed in session, can assist with improving mood and resolving conflicts. My focus If you've been dealing with life transitions and changes: work stress, end/beginning new relationships, cultural diversity concerns, LGBTQ issues, we work together to develop pathways for resolving those life stresses. I am with you each step of the way. Please know there may be "homework" to help create these changes/improvements. My communication style I believe in open communication, especially between clients and clinicians. I allow clients time to share their concerns, thoughts, emotions, and understand it might be difficult to find the words; this is your time and I'm here to assist you. My journey to mental healthcare I've been in the behavioral health field since I was 19 years old in undergraduate school, volunteering at a phone crisis counseling service for the college and community at the University of Colorado (Boulder). Two years of both training and volunteer work moved me into my professional career. I've worked in psychiatric hospitals, crisis clinics, and trauma recovery programs for adult survivors of sexual abuse and the LGBTQ communities.
