Hello and welcome! My name is McKenzie Thomas, and I am a licensed therapist with over six years of experience specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ashland University and a Bachelor’s degree from Ohio Dominican University. I work with adults, particularly those navigating the challenges of life transitions, identity, and mental health struggles. As a mixed-race therapist, I bring a deep understanding of cultural sensitivity and an appreciation for the unique experiences of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
I use a collaborative, person-centered approach in my work, which means I see you as the expert of your own life. My role is to help you navigate confusion or overwhelming emotions and provide support as we work together to find increased mental clarity and direction. My approach integrates a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
