Getting to know Madeline Bredeweg

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. If you’re hoping for more than just coping—for healing, growth, and deeper connection—therapy can be a place to start. Together, we’ll explore your experiences and patterns, develop skills to navigate life’s challenges, and translate insight into meaningful change. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs and goals. I draw primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), emphasizing mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to support greater psychological flexibility and lasting change. I may also incorporate Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder to help you navigate obsessive and intrusive thoughts, and change patterns that interfere with daily life. In couples therapy, I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners better understand their relationship patterns, strengthen emotional connection, and navigate conflict with greater openness and understanding. I strive to create a space where you can show up as you are, including the parts of yourself you may struggle to understand or accept. I approach our work with curiosity and compassion, helping you make room for difficult experiences while becoming more intentional in how you respond to them. Whether we’re working individually or as a couple, our work will focus on building a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, creating space for new ways of responding, and moving toward a life that reflects what matters most to you.
