Getting to know Malka Belgrod

Malka Belgrod is a Licensed Clinical Social worker in the State of New York. She has her Masters Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and has received a post graduate certification in Trauma Treatment from Adelphi University. She has completed a level 1 training at the Gottman Institute for couples counseling. She has worked in several clinics in Queens and Brooklyn as a clinical therapist. She has worked at the Coalition against Child Abuse and Neglect in Bethpage and helped families who experienced sexual and physical abuse. For the last several years she has been running a bereavement group to help those struggling with grief and loss. She has worked with clients dealing with a myriad of issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger management, life transitions and abuse. Malka strives to provide a safe and compassionate environment that engages clients to explore and process in order to achieve success.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I provide a compassionate, supportive, validating, safe space where together we can explore your challenges, better understand the roots of the issues and come up with strategies to set you up for success. Talk therapy is a vehicle for true change and I believe in utilizing several therapeutic modalities, and some humor, to ensure we find the best fit for you. I do not prescribe medication, and only provide talk therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I reach out to clients upon booking. Intake forms are provided online. After hearing what is bringing you in, we utilize evidence-based practices to develop new tools to address the issue and we work together as a team to help you. Via tele-health, a typical intake session can be between 45-50 minutes and continuing sessions are 45 minutes.

Initial session: $225 for 50 minutes

Ongoing session: $200-225 for 45 minutes

Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
