“I came to therapy feeling like I was failing at everything. Maggie helped me develop more self-compassion and taught me skills that I could actually use between sessions. I left therapy feeling more capable of handling difficult moments rather than needing everything to be perfect.”

Getting to know Margaret Lindley (Maggie)

I am passionate about helping women in the perinatal period navigate the emotional roller coaster and massive shift in identity of new motherhood. I have facilitated many new mother support groups to help individuals feel less alone. I serve not only this population but anyone who is struggling with feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, navigating change, or struggling to manage difficult emotions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic approach is person centered - it is about providing a safe judgement free space for you to be your most genuine authentic self. I am here to listen, reflect, and guide you to begin to know and trust your voice. To help you to find and use your inner strengths. I have experience supporting clients through depression, anxiety, trauma processing, and emotional dysregulation.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I take a collaborative, person-centered approach, beginning by getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and identifying the goals that feel most meaningful to you. Sessions are primarily talk therapy, with space to explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences without judgment. Depending on your needs, we may use structured tools such as identifying patterns in thoughts and behaviors, practicing DBT skills for emotional regulation and distress tolerance, developing coping strategies, setting small and achievable goals, or working together to identify strengths and solutions. We may explore concepts such as mindfulness, radical acceptance, and self-compassion. I may also offer reflection questions, between-session practices, or practical skills to try in your everyday life. Throughout our work together, I want therapy to feel both supportive and purposeful—giving you space to be heard while also helping you build skills, understand yourself more deeply, and make meaningful changes.

First and foremost, I want to thank you, Maggie. You created such a welcoming environment in our sessions and that meant the world to me. It really helped me open up and I cannot thank you enough for that. It also helped me prepare for the change in care. You are a great representative for Sol Health.
I’ll never forget how impactful working with Maggie was for me as a new mother navigating the return to work and a global pandemic. Your care and compassion was so meaningful and I truly felt you had found your calling.
Getting to join Maggie in therapy every week just as I returned to work from maternity leave made me feel more supported and prepared. The safe space and the tools Maggie shares are a reminder that we are all human and need a little extra support now and again. Maggie, thank you so much for bringing your authentic self to therapy and setting a beautiful example to help others thrive.
Working with Maggie was truly a special, empowering, affirming, lovely (insert all the positive adjectives) experience. This was a major win in my book; I so appreciate all of the time and care you took to provide tools and resources and to create a space to be my authentic self. I mean it when I say this has been one of the best experiences I’ve had with mental health care.
I appreciated that therapy with Maggie wasn’t just talking about my problems. She helped me notice patterns, slow things down, and actually practice different ways of responding when I was feeling overwhelmed.
Just wanted to thank you again for everything you did for me. Absolutely life-changing. It may not have seemed like it week a week, but slowly and surely what I’ve learned is coming together. Since we’ve wrapped up I’ve been able to gather my thoughts and kind of piece it all together. I know I’m never done, but everything to this point has been very helpful in improving my and my kids quality of life.
Maggie has a way of balancing compassion with gentle accountability. I never felt judged, but she also didn’t just tell me what I wanted to hear. She helped me look at situations differently and figure out what was actually within my control.
I really enjoyed working with Maggie. I looked forward to every session on my calendar and came away from each session feeling healed.
