Getting to know Mariam Elbedeiwy

The provider is a “Licensed Professional Counselor" and their license number is 37PC01179900 I aim to help clients with navigating the complexities of severe and persistent mental illness, and may also have a history of suicidal ideation or attempts. Clients might feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck in cycles of crisis and recovery, and are seeking a safe, structured space to explore their emotions, build coping strategies, and regain a sense of control. I look to work with children, adolescents, or adults who have experienced trauma, instability, or systemic barriers to care. Together, we’ll work toward stability, self-understanding, and meaningful change. I advocate fiercely for my clients, and I’m not afraid to have the hard conversations. I work best with individuals who are ready to be honest—even if that honesty is messy or painful. I value authenticity in the therapy room and believe that healing starts when we stop pretending everything is okay. My clients don’t need to have it all figured out; they just need to show up.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am an eclectic therapist who draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities to meet each client's unique needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. Most importantly, my work is grounded in a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, empowerment, and understanding the impact of past experiences on present functioning.

She is an absolute joy to have as a therapist. Very understanding and amazing. Definitely helped me look at some things differently. She is very well informed and kind .
She is absolutely AMAZING. She always makes me feel comfortable and remembers the little things. I always feel like she cares about me and my progress. She also gives great advice for kids and diffrent cultural issues. 10/10.
Miriam's good, flexible scheduling, lets you know if she needs to reschedule well ahead of time (not a common occurrence). Perhaps most importantly, she's receptive to how you are as a patient. I'm not very good at starting to talk about things, so after kinda figuring this out and discussing it after our first couple meetings, she takes the lead in getting the discussion started and lets me take it from there. Very helpful, I feel like I'm really making progress rather than just treading water like I used to.
Therapy is not easy, it’s emotional, it’s hard & you need to do a lot of soul searching. You will need to go deep to open up and pull out what is making you emotionally sick, to be able to find that peace and clarification of the issues, how you, your mind and your body reacts to any type of trauma and the reasons why your mind and emotions processed the way they did. It takes work and it takes honesty wth yourself & therapist to face that trauma and then how to heal and finally to move on. “THERAPY” isn’t that 45 minute appointment, it’s the time between sessions. What is given in that appointment are the discoveries and then the tools to apply. That’s why it is also important to find that therapist you “click” with. For me, Mariam is just that. She calls me out on things that I would rather talk about another time. It doesn’t work that way. That’s the time you need to address it the most. She doesn’t baby you but she is full of compassion, love & understanding. She is a gift.
Mariam's ability to target issues, discuss and work through some next steps makes every session fruitful. I especially like that I am given homework to really work on repeat behavior and how I react to it.
She’s absolutely wonderful. It has been so easy to build rapport with her and that has enabled some real growth and healing for me.
It has always been difficult for me to find a therapist I like. Mariam has made me feel super comfortable and it’s easy to talk to her. She also has actual tips to help me through anxiety. I definitely recommend!
I love I love I LOVEEEEE Mariam. Mariam gives me everything my last therapist couldn’t. She helps me tremendously and reassures me of all of my worries. And instead of telling me that things are going to get better, she tells me HOW they can get better and what I can do to better myself. I’ve never felt so comfortable talking to someone about sensitive subjects. I cannot recommend Mariam enough!
I absolutely adore Mariam! I’ve been to about 4-5 therapists over the course of some years and she is the first person to make me feel extremely comfortable and confident in myself. Her advice is genuine and she’s helped greatly in pushing me to advocate for myself, something I’ve struggled with consistently. I’ve recommended her to others and they share the same sentiments. It doesn’t feel like I’m speaking with a therapist from just any clinic or practice, it truly feels like a genuine conversation with a trustworthy family member or friend.
I absolutely love my visits with Mariam. She has been helping me so much through difficult situations and challenges in my life. What I appreciate most is that she doesn’t just offer solutions, she genuinely listens and makes me feel heard, understood, and supported. Every session feels like a safe space where I can express myself without judgment. Her compassion, patience, and guidance have made a meaningful difference in my growth and well being. I highly recommend Mariam to anyone looking for a therapist who truly cares and takes the time to listen.
Mariam is very personable, easy to talk to and confide in. She is warm, compassionate and caring and I felt comfortable with her from the very first session.
Mariam created a safe and welcoming environment where I felt comfortable expressing my thoughts and feelings. Her empathetic approach and insightful guidance have truly helped me navigate some of life’s toughest challenges.
Mariam has been working with my teenage daughter for almost three years, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her support, dedication, and hard work. Dealing with anxiety and depression at such a young age is an enormous challenge, and having someone who truly understands, guides, and supports the healing process makes all the difference. Mariam is attentive, compassionate, and supportive, while also encouraging growth and progress through a variety of approaches tailored to her clients’ needs. She is always willing to help, responds quickly during difficult situations, and works with the entire family when needed. Her professionalism, kindness, and commitment have had a meaningful impact on my daughter’s journey, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking support for their child or teenager.
We had the pleasure of working with Mariam when my 9 yr old daughter was having severe anxiety that was causing her to not be able to speak, including at school. Mariam was so patient and understanding with her, and the problem was completely solved in under a year! We can’t thank her enough! I highly recommend Mariam for any trouble your child might be having.
We have been working with Mariam for over two years. She began when my daughter was 8 and was uncontrollably violent. Her kindness, knowledge, professionalism, and heart have made her such a wonderful partner in helping my daughter. We continue to see her and look forward to a long relationship. We trust her completely and I couldn’t recommend a therapist more highly.
Mariam has made such a positive impact on my life. From the very beginning, she has always taken the time to truly listen, understand, and support me without judgment. She creates a safe and comfortable environment where I feel heard, respected, and able to be myself. Her compassion, patience, and professionalism make every session meaningful, and I always leave feeling understood and supported. I genuinely cannot imagine switching to another therapist because of the trust and connection we have built. She understands me in a way that makes it easier to work through challenges and grow as a person. Knowing I have someone who listens carefully and cares about my well-being means so much to me. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who is kind, understanding, and truly dedicated to helping her clients.
